Baseball icon, Jackie Robinson, is finally getting a biopic done in his name. Directed by Brian Helgeland, 42 will not be first movie to tell Robinson’s tale but unlike its television based predecessors, this will be the first motion picture since Robinson played himself in 1950s The Jackie Robinson Story.

Set to be released on April 12th, 2013, Robinson (who has been previously played by the likes Andre Braugher and Blair Underwood) will be played by Chadwick Boseman with  Harrison Ford starring as Brooklyn Dodgers manager, Branch Rickey.
