It’s Okay. It’s Procedure.

This collection of dinnerware may look like a series of crude, fetishized illustrations, but the issues that it addresses are far more dire and alarming than sadism.

In Procedure RoomNikita Kadan applies medical dictionary-style illustrations of torture methods onto souvenir plates. The entire series is a conceptual protest against police tortures currently happening in Ukraine. The plates bring these “invisible” injustices to light.

The Kyiv born Kadan purposefully gave the subjects in the illustrations serene facial expressions, taking a jab at those who decide to turn a blind eye and ignore this abuse of power.
