A Microbial Revolution.

Designer Peter Trimble brings us closer to an environmentally efficient future with Dupe. A microbially induced casting procedure, Dupe uses sand and urine to make a biostone that is structurally comparable to concrete.

The process, which emits no greenhouse gases, is only an experiment but actually proves to be the more environmentally safe option when compared to concrete. Concrete is responsible for 5 % of the worlds manmade C02 emissions. Dupe may very well be the first in a line of alternative eco-friendly building materials.
