Quiet Lunch Magazine normally refrains from taking a subjective approach to any current event story; however, this one struck such a nerve with us that we can say nothing more except shame on those who encourage such cruel behavior.

In what can be deemed as the most despicable and disgusting “trends” to date, folks have been taking to photographing themselves sprawled out on the ground with a bag of Skittles and an Arizona drink (the items slain teen Trayvon Martin purchased before he was gunned down) and have been calling it “Trayvoning.” Since the killing of the 17-year-old Florida teen in February by then neighborhood watchman, George Zimmerman, Martin’s story sparked a racial debate and made national headlines in one of the most sensational stories of 2012.

To add insult to injury, there was reportedly a Facebook page encouraging participants to play “dead” and prompting each other to take the “best” Trayvon picture–similar to the owling and planking trends of late.
