Jody Xiong of DDB China has teamed up with the China Environmental Protection Foundation to create a useful outdoor campaign that lends a subtle visual reminder of the environmental benefits of walking versus driving. Dubbed the Green Pedestrian Crossing, Xiong laid out an enormous white canvases with a bare tree and proceeded to place them across 132 crosswalks in 15 Chinese cities.
As pedestrians crossed their shoe soles were imprinted with a small amount of green paint, leaving behind a trail of leaf-like footprints. With an estimate 3,920,000 people having passed through the installations, the final posters were eventually hung has billboards in several urban locations.
Quiet Lunch is a grassroot online publication that seeks to promote various aspects of life and culture with a loving, but brute, educational tinge. When we say, “Creative Sustenance Daily,” we mean it.
