Miami Art Basel 2017. | Scope & Untitled Art Fairs. | Day 5.

I can’t believe it’s already over! Today was the last day of a whirlwind of spectacular and inspiring art + memorable parties in more surreal than ever locations always infused with hit or miss art installations (no proper nightclub can call itself such without one nowadays) and the most varied and creative fare to rival New York or Paris. I decided to conclude my 2017 Miami Art Week experience with the doublet “Untitled” and “Scope” art fairs which amply validated my long-forecasted resurgence of Op and Kinetic art.

To my utter delight, Untitled Fair dedicated its “pole position” to a master of Kinetic and Op art, Carlos Cruz-Diez by featuring “Chroma,” a traveling exhibition organized by SCAD Museum of Art, in collaboration with Articruz and the Cruz-Diez Art Foundation. In unison, Scope honored one of the most acclaimed international young artists whose unbridled vision brought back the aesthetics of Op and kinetic art with a 21st-century twist, Felipe Pantone. Felipe got top billing at Scope which featured one of his large outdoor sculptures at the entrance of the fair and featured his artwork on all marketing materials.

Enjoy my final Miami Art Week report today, can’t wait to be back in 2018!
