In The Menu, Visual Arts by Quiet LunchLeave a Comment

We stumbled upon the work of Ryuta Iida and out of all the projects we saw, the one being featured today is the one that affected us the most. Iida, an artist from Shizuoka, Japan, there are some sectors of her work that reminds us of Meg Hitchock–but her Misin series isn’t as recognizable.

In fact, it is perplexing. We can’t tell whether it is enriched typography, nostalgic sculpture, a paid homage to culture or all the above. However, we do know that the project is warm and inviting. It may be a little hard to put our finger on, but the execution and overall display is quite memorable.
