Update!
We have GREAT NEWS! Our readers have been salivating over the concept of an Instgram Socialmatic Camera and Quiet Lunch is proud to announce that the camera is WELL on its way to becoming a REALITY!
Antonio De Rosa of ADR Studio just emailed us a few days ago and after we woke up from a coma induced by an overload of awesome, we decided to break the news to our readers. Turns out the concept found a private backer by the name of Artem Shishakin.
“I am very happy to join ADR Studio Team… It was a delicate and intense negotiations but has served both of us to understand the goodness of the project and the potential for marketing. Now we have interesting and intense months in front of us, where the work will reward with our dream: to give birth to this product.” – Artem Shishakin.
The Instgram Socialmatic Camera is NO LONGER a concept, it is now a REALITY COMING SOON!

Instagram junkies are going to crap an Empire State building when they see this:
The Instagram Socialmatic Camera.↓
Yes, that just happened. The team at ADR Studio have sold their souls to the devil and conjured up one of the best inventions of the year — possibly the decade. The Instagram Socialmatic Camera concept brings the Instagram icon to live, allowing the glorious app to actually function as the instant film camera that has spurred its very existence.
Here are some of the features:
• 16 GB mass storage.
• Wifi and Bluetooth.
• 4:3 touchscreen.
• 2 main lens, first for main capture, second for 3D filters, webcam applications and QR Code capturing.
• Optical zoom.
• LED Flash.
• Internal printer to make your Instagram photos real.
• Paper cartridge with Instagram Paper Sheets.
• Dedicated 4 colors ink tanks.
• InstaOs 1.0, which put together Facebook and Instagram App feature.
The Instagram Paper Sheets has a retro side with a glue strip, so you can use your photos to vandalize anything your heart desires.

The big question as Facebook paaetlus is can it avoid the fate of other social networks by becoming a broader utility platform. We could debate the levers all day, but it is a likely scenario that Facebook user numbers and usage per user could drop.Facebook seems to recognize this by trying to become a broader ecosystem. Tim Malbon @malbonster raised an interesting spectre over in his column at The Telegraph that Facebook’s extension into the entire web may cannibalize itself why visit Facebook when you can Like things or connect elsewhere? But this extension may be the best defense if Facebook can become the default log-in and sharing utility for the web universe. The real threat I think is what happens if consumers make a radical device usage change. If tablets and mobile really replace PCs and laptops, will Facebook be as addictive and easy to use there? I plug into FB via my iPhone now but Instagram seems so much more appealing in that small window. My bet, not to sound sour, is FB will fade eventually. Most of its utility is a multi-colored email interface, and consumers have a track record of moving on to better systems. We will see.
@malbonster valid point, I often wonder the same. but fb seem to keep up with the times. would know for certain in another 10 or so years, will respond then, again. xxx

I don’t mind admitting that I would give serious consideration to purchasing such a device.
It just wouldn’t surprise me if Apple already has a patent and can make this happen with a snazzy case/add on to an iphone. Snap a cool case/filmpack on your iphone, shoot as always with your phone, presto-photo. Afterall, the beauty of Instagram is that you always have it with you (in your phone). As a photographer, I always think about ways to have less gear, not more cameras.
I gave my Polaroid camera away five years ago and was one of the last ones to have one. Too funny to see it now a hot “new” thing again. History is circles.
Pleaaaaseeeeeeeeee make it available in markets soooon soon pleaseeeeeee

This is an even better product: http://instaprint.me/
gives you polaroids without having to carry around the big camera. just need your phone!
right now they only have them to rent but apparently they hope to have them to sell soon!!
I swear this could break records for being the most successful project on Kickstarter. I want one!!
This is what Polaroid should’ve done to stay in the game, but just regular-ass digital photos.
It’s a “new” polaroid camera… who cares…
it’s cool I have an iPhone. BEEEAUTIFUL paper weight though!
[...] Wouldn’t this be awesome! I would totally buy one of these! Via QuietLunch.com [...]
Why couldn’t they put it on Kickstarter?
This is blowing my mind. They somehow have made an old Polaroid camera into something everyone is calling a “genius new invention.”
especially since the public declaration of how void polaroid cameras are.
About a million hipsters just came in their pants.
