3D printing seems to be all the rave these days. The use of the technology has made it easier for designers to execute their ideas in a more accurate fashion. Continuing the trend, Marieka Ratsma and Kostika Spaho have taken full advantage of 3D printing with their BIomImIcry Shoe.

The idea for the BIomImIcry Shoe highlights nature’s ability to pool its own resources to create something that is both beautiful and efficient. “The smart use of materials and cross fertilisation among various disciplines could lead to a new design perspective. The concentration of strengths and sharing of burdens creates a win-win situation for all players, a synergy.”
